Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
This is a condition that develops when the reflux of stomach contents causes troublesome symptoms and/or complications.
The classic symptoms of GERD are heartburn and regurgitation. Other symptoms include dysphagia, chest pain, water brash, globus sensation, odynophagia, chronic cough, hoarseness, wheezing, and nausea.
The diagnosis of GERD are often based on classic symptoms such as heartburn and/or regurgitation.
